Hi, I have been researching online courses to become a certified coder. Should I get the 2o13 CPT book or the 2014? Will there be a difference if I study from the 2013 and take the exam in 2014?

If you are going to get certified this year, get 2013 coding books. If you are going to get certified in 2014, get 2014 coding books. My guess is that you will be taking the certification exam in 2014, so I will recommend you get the 2014 coding books. Always use the current books for the year you are being tested.

Thanks! What about the 2013 PBC, will that be okay to start now with the 2013 or should I wait for the 2014 edition?

I am not sure, but Laureen or Alicia should be able to answer that question.

2014 books are what we are reccomended from September forward. We will be putting up 2014 CPT lectures in the beginning of the year but the core info is in the existing lectures now.

Email https://www.cco.us/cco-helpdesk-request/ if you have more pre-enrollment questions (to get a quicker response). Best wishes!
